I saw on ABCTV this morning the demonstrations in downtown Belgrade. I saw a large flag being held-up and waved back and forth above the crowd. The flag had long proportions (1:3 or 1:4) and was either green or blue (it is hard to tell since it was nightime in the TV scene) with a round emblem of some type in the middle of unknown colors.

This would probably be the flag of the opposition coalition that won the elections in Belgradep. The flag is not quite defined, since I have seen it on several occasions in several colours light blue, green or yellow with the circular emblem. The emblem includes the word "ZAJEDNO" in Cyrillic letters, that is:
This is the name of the coalition, and means something like 'together'. The coalition is made of four parties.

A friend has sent me a photo of a flag for identification.
It is a Serbian tri-colour--red/blue/white. Gold fringe on the fly
only.
Centered on the blue bar, extending slightly into the red and white
is a badge. Badge is composed of a red border, edged in white, with
white Cyrillic inscription:
The field of the badge is red, with crown over a double-headed eagle, Serbian shield on eagle's breast, all details in white and red.

The first sentence means something like "with belief in God".
Jorge Candeias, 27 January 1998
The second sentence means "for the king and fatherland".
Both are the patriotic war mottos of Serbia, and unfortunately do not reveal to us the "owner" of this flag.
